Community of Practice for bilingual professionals

Bilingual professionals are a valuable resource for their organizations; they offer quality care in French, allowing for improved services that better meet the needs of clients. With this in mind, health and social service partners are working together to develop a Community of Practice for bilingual professionals across the South West and Erie St. Clair regions.

The purpose of the Community of Practice is to create a common space where bilingual professionals working with francophones can enhance their capacity to deliver services in French, access resources and tools, network among their peers and work towards developing pathways and strategies that will improve accessibility to French language services.

This online interactive resource will support members to connect and share lessons learned, best practices, documents, policies, and resources. The site content will be in French and English, but will also use Google Translate to allow users to translate content into other languages.

Members can be:

  • Bilingual health and wellness staff, as well as other bilingual professionals
  • Francophone and bilingual community members (students, job seekers, etc.)
  • Partner agencies
  • College and University programs and faculties
  • Health service providers and other partner organizations

Partners include

South West and Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Networks; Entité de planification des services de santé en français Érié St. Clair/Sud-Ouest; Vanier Children’s Services as well as French Health Network of Central Southwestern Ontario.
