Statement from Lori Van Opstal, Board Chair, South West LHIN

This was a difficult decision for the Board of Director to make, but we believe that endorsing this application ensures quality of care and improved access to this service for Hanover residents. We believe that this decision will improve the experience for patients in Hanover. We believe that our decision-making processes are informed by the best available data, evidence, and best practices, and that this decision recognizes the value of and need for significant community commitment. A rationale for the recommendation to endorse the CT application will be forwarded to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, along with the CT scanner application for consideration by the ministry. Our decision demonstrates that due process is always given to the decisions made by the South West LHIN.
