South West LHIN Board to decide the location of residential hospice resources in Huron Perth

A decision regarding the proposed model and siting of residential hospice resources in Huron and Perth Counties will come forward to the South West LHIN Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Lori Van Opstal, Interim Board Chair, and Michael Barrett, CEO of the South West LHIN will be available to answer media questions about the Board’s decision following the meeting.

The Board decision will be informed by planning, input and feedback from key partners and communities, as well as guiding, planning and development principles established by the South West Hospice Palliative Care Leadership Committee and approved by the LHIN Board in January 2017. The principles are intended to ensure optimal access, quality, and sustainability of new residential hospice resources in the South West LHIN.
The South West LHIN along with its planning partners are committed to being transparent throughout the decision making process and will continue to engage with all stakeholders including community members as the planning process unfolds.
